Yesterday, at the Big Sandy Conference Center over 70 food growers and buyers met to create new relationships and increase the sale of local foods. Local farmers met with buyers, such as restaurant owners and chefs, grocers, farm to school representatives, local distributors and national distributors to discuss the nuts and bolts of buying and selling local food.

The event featured a speed dating session, where buyers and growers had valuable conversations about the supply of local foods. A panel featured buyers and growers with bulk sales experience to share points of view about price, communication strategies, and marketing strategies.
